“Indian In The Cupboard” Color-changing Spoons

After the success of several color changing spoons for General Mills cereal brands (Cheerios and Trix), Baskin Robbins wanted some as a promotion for the, then, upcoming motion picture directed by Frank Oz called the Indian In the Cupboard which was based on a popular book by Lynne Reid Banks.

Similar to my work on projects like the Sugar Bear ornament for Post cereals, my work consisted of sketching and drawing the images on the tops of the spoons, utilizing very few images from the film. The images were then approved by the film company and then revised. I then handed the images (which included turn around drawings) to another member of the Nipper Group team to be sculpted.

The spoons were distributed in Baskin Robbins locations throughout the United States and Canada.
