Gag Order

Generating a timely editorial illustration demands a swift response to current events, blending awareness and speed. This particular piece serves as a commentary on the legal challenges faced by former president Donald Trump and the implementation of gag orders to temper his rhetoric. Inspired during coverage of one of his trials, I swiftly translated the concept into a quick thumbnail and a speedy color rough to solidify the idea. With the concept in place, I proceeded to draft a tight pencil rough for approval before embarking on the final painting. This process encapsulates the rapid yet thoughtful approach required to capture and comment on unfolding events in the realm of editorial illustration.
