Take Wing and Soar production of KING LEAR
Actress Mary Hodges sets the stage for my visually striking creation – the poster art for Take Wing and Soar Productions,Inc’s avant-garde production of King Lear, directed by the Timothy D. Stickney. This modern reinterpretation of Shakespeare’s classic, featuring the incomparable Trazana Beverley as LEAR, brought a fresh, contemporary flavor to the timeless tale. Hodges, who portrayed the FOOL under Stickney’s direction, aptly describes the poster as “such a cool design,” encapsulating the essence of the production’s innovative spirit. As a designer, my goal was to visually capture the modernity and intensity of the play, creating a poster that not only conveyed the essence of the performance but also served as a captivating visual invitation. The dynamic interplay of elements in the design reflects the production’s bold departure from tradition, making it an ideal centerpiece for promoting Director Stickney’s unique take on the classic tragedy.
